Episode 4: Elisa Lam and the Cecil Hotel Curse

Episode Summary:

Hotel Cecil in Los Angeles has a long mysterious history, with multiple people dying there over the years, and rumors that serial killers have stayed there. In 2013, it seemed the hotel’s curse lived on when a young Canadian student came to stay during a trip to California. Soon into her stay, Elisa’s behavior became strange, to the point that she moved out of a shared room and was given her own room. On the night of January 31st into the morning of February 1st, Elisa’s behavior seemed to peak as strange. Security camera footage in an elevator caught her acting bizarre. This was the last time she was seen.
Two weeks later, after hotel guests complained of dark colored, poor tasting and foul smelling tap water, a hotel employee found the body of Elisa floating in a water tank on the roof. It was eventually ruled an accident, but many conspiracy theories circulate to this day.
