Episode #18: Aaron Hernandez
Summary of the Case:
Aaron Hernandez was born in 1989 in Connecticut. As a teenager he had immense talent as a football player. At only 17 he would start playing for University of Florida. However, this is when his mood instability and short temper would first show. He was also abusing alcohol, marijuana and other drugs. By 20, he was in the NFL playing for the Patriots. In 2012, after a disagreement in a club with Aaron, two men would be shot in their car at a red light. The next year, Aaron and his friend who had been with him that night went for a weekend get away. The weekend would end with the friend shot to the head on the side of the road, however, he would survive. Later that year, Aaron and a group of friends went out to party. At the end of the night, one of the men, Odin Lloyd, was dead in a park, and his home cameras caught Aaron coming home with a gun.
In 2015, Aaron was found guilty of the 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd. In 2017, Aaron was tried for the murder of the two men shot in their cars in 2012, but was acquitted of the charges. Three days later, Aaron would be found dead in his jail cell after hanging himself.
